A taste of things to come this summer
Number 8 in Pershore was buzzing on Friday evening (23 June) as artists, sponsors and guests gathered for the launch of this year’s Worcestershire Open Studios.
An exhibition showcasing 31 pieces of artwork by many of this year’s participants was unveiled at the event.
The Pershore show, which features work in a variety of media including painting, printmaking, photography, textiles and smoke drawing, offers a taste of what to expect over the August bank holiday weekend (26 – 28 August) when artists open their studios, homes and shared spaces to visitors at 70 locations across the county.
Artist and Worcestershire Open Studios co-organiser, Sally Anne Morgan, says,
“This three week exhibition at Number 8 is a great opportunity to get a glimpse of the fantastic range of artistic talent that’s on offer at this year’s Worcestershire Open Studios.
“There’s a wide range of styles of artwork on display from cityscapes, landscapes and portraiture to still life, abstract and much more besides – all of it created in our wonderful county.”
The gallery, at Number 8, High Street, Pershore, is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and evenings when there’s a live film or event.
Early copies of this year’s open studios guide can be picked up at the exhibition.
