Artist questionnaire

As well as the details you've given on your profile page, it's useful for us to have a bank of material about artists to use for publicity about Worcestershire Open Studios both in the press and on social media.

Please fill in the questions below, as fully as you can so that readers can learn more about you as an artist. Write in the first person to make it more personal and engaging. Answer as many or as few questions as you want. We reserve the right to edit answers for brevity and clarity.

We can't guarantee individual press exposure but we'll also use these questions as the basis for a blog post about you and your art, which will be added to the WOS blog. These posts are highlighted as 'featured artist' articles on the website front page.

Can you tell us about yourself and your background as an artist/maker?

Tell us a bit about your creative process. – eg. What’s involved / how long does it take to make a piece of work / which stage in the creative process do you find most interesting or exciting?

Where you do usually work from? – Can you describe your studio or workspace to us?

Have you developed any unique or unusual techniques in your work?

Tell us about a favourite piece of work and what it means to you.

What is your biggest source of inspiration? – eg. What types of thing and/or artists and/or artworks inspire you most?

What advice would you have for artists who are just starting out?

If you sell your work, can you tell us more about how you do this? – eg. Is this online, through a gallery or in person at markets or events / what are your best sellers / do you have any tips or advice?

How has lockdown changed your creative process? – eg. Have your been more or less productive / how has lockdown affected your inspiration or creativity / have you tried any new genres or techniques?
