Artist information
Working and living on the Worcester-Hereford border I am surrounded by beautiful countryside and farmland. I am a textile artist focussing primarily on making high quality felt. I create a variety of unique wearables including scarves, wraps, and bags. I also enjoy making felt ‘paintings’ with the addition of hand and machine embroidery. I love to push the boundaries of my felt making by including other media in my felt. I particularly like using silks which I have hand dyed and also upcycled silks in a process known as nuno felting to create beautiful items with soft drape and gorgeous sheen. Paperfelt is also an interesting diversion and creates a wonderful textured surface for Cyanotype printing and fabric painting.
For several years I have regularly participated in online and local felting exhibitions. I am a member of the International Feltmakers Association. In 2024 I participated in h.Art for the first time and plan to take part again in 2025 where I will be exhibiting at the Lion Ballroom, Leominster.
My work can be seen on my website Carol Dash Textile Art.co.uk or my instagram account of the same name.
In addition I will be participating in two exhibitions with local Mostly Felt group at The Weavers Gallery, Ledbury. 4-10 August 2025 and 24-29 November 2025 10-4.
