Artist information
Working and living on the Worcester-Hereford border I am surrounded by beautiful countryside and farmland. I am a textile artist focussing primarily on making high quality felt. I create a variety of unique wearables including scarves, wraps, and bags. I also enjoy making felt ‘paintings’ with the addition of hand and machine embroidery. I love to push the boundaries of my felt making by including other media in my felt. I particularly like using silks which I have hand dyed and also upcycled silks in a process known as nuno felting to create beautiful items with soft drape and gorgeous sheen. Paperfelt is also an interesting diversion and creates a wonderful textured surface for Cyanotype printing and fabric painting. For several years I have regularly participated in online and local felting exhibitions. I am a member of the International Feltmakers Association. In 2024 and 2025 I participated in h.Art exhibiting at the Lion Ballroom, Leominster. I am not exhibiting in Worcestershire Open Studios this year as the timing is tricky for me. This year I am exhibiting at The Weavers Gallery, Ledbury with my felting group Mostly Felt 31 August – 4 September followed by h.Art (Herefordshire Open Studios). This year for h.Art I am excited to be exhibiting with three other talented textile artists at the Weavers Gallery Ledbury 5-13 September 11-5. My work can be seen on my website Carol Dash Textile Art.co.uk or my instagram account of the same name. In addition I will be participating in two Art Markets during the autumn. These will be held in Great Malvern in the grounds of Malvern Priory. I also have a small amount of work on display at Bromyard Art Gallery.
