Artist information
I create vivid, dynamic contemporary abstract works on canvas, made in my Worcester home studio. My paintings have compositional impact from a distance but also incorporate fascinating details at close range. These outcomes, although abstract, often echo the natural world such as, floral and botanical structures, ancient organic forms and fluid movement.
My paintings can be found in private collections across the UK, Europe and the USA. From Cornish heritage, I was born in Ludlow, studied art at Shrewsbury and Hull, completed a Fine Art BA (Hons), then moved onto ceramics and ran my own small pottery in North Somerset. I later undertook a PGCE in Art and Design in Birmingham, and taught art to secondary level in Gloucestershire and West Sussex, before moving to Hong Kong for seven years. Returning with a family I then had a career in youth adventure travel. I resumed creating my own art in 2018. After discovering, learning and perfecting techniques in acrylic fluid art, I found my niche and am producing exciting results which push the boundaries of this genre.
