Artform: Drawing, Painting
I am interested in where drawing stops and painting starts. Beginning with structures; my work evolves to explore tone, pattern, texture or colour with an emphasis on descriptive mark-making techniques.
I prefer working with spontaneity en plein air in places of historic, geographical or unique character.
I am better known for my pieces in Indian drawing ink on unbleached British paper; which range in scale from a few centimetres to several meters, but I also very much enjoy colour frequently using both watercolour and oil paints.
Sketchbooks form a large part of my process and will be available to view.
My studio will be open to you and a variety of work displayed more formally also .
I take commissions from private individuals and or organisations. Please ask about previous commissions or have a look at my website.
During Worcestershire Open Studios I will be able to demonstrate aspects of my work for you in drawing or painting and speak with you about my teaching background, educational credentials and previous teaching experiences. I teach individuals, adults and children or art groups and societies with a current and portable DBS. See also my website for more information.
I look forward to welcoming you to my studio.
