Silversmith – jewellery
My work is inspired by prehistoric rock art, the interplay of light and texture, and little treasures I find on my travels. From pieces based on recording or excavation work I have carried out at archaeological sites such as Llanbedr in North Wales to pebbles found on a beach in Anglesey or processes such as reticulation, bringing silver to its melting point and playing the flame over it to produce a wonderful granular texture which catches the light beautifully. I make unusual and unique pieces suitable for everyday wear or special occasions.
Having been based at Blue Ginger Gallery for 13 years, 2021 sees me building a new studio and display area at home, on the side of the Malvern Hills, as Covid saw the closure of this lovely gallery. My studio sits in the middle of our garden where I can keep an eye on the fish pond and my veggie bed and work accompanied by the sound of moving water. We are blessed with lovely views and beautiful countryside.
