Heather Farmer

Painter

This year I be exhibiting in gazebos in my garden, along with fellow painter, my husband, Steve Farmer, and you will be able to see original artwork, prints and cards.

I started oil painting in 2018, and found I loved it. The versatility of oils excites me, it allows me to express myself freely and explore different techniques of applying colour and creating texture and movement. I love to use a palette knife, scratch or flick paint and see where it leads me. You will be able to see some of the more unusual things I use for applying paint and photos of my process for some of my artwork.

I take my inspiration largely from the places I have travelled to – from the birch forests of Siberia to the local scenery of Worcestershire, and my work is a response to that landscape. I want my work to connect with people, evoking feelings and memories.
