Jess Pritchard

Pencil artist

I am a self taught, multi-award winning pencil artist from the UK. From a young age I have had a passion for both art and wildlife so naturally combined the two.

I have always drawn animals however when the pandemic hit, I was inspired to create a new series of drawings titled ‘Confetti’. This series consists of eight large scale hand drawn petals ranging in size from 60x60cm to 100x100cm, set in a square of 24 carat gold leaf. I was inspired to draw these petals at such a large scale when I noticed how many of us turned to our gardens or the countryside for relief from the chaos around. Spending time outside once seemed like a small and simple thing to do but very quickly became a large part of our lives.

Each petal in the series is named after a personality trait to represent the different personalities of family and friends that we may have missed during each lockdown. Without each petal aka family member, the flower cannot exist as a whole.
