Lyndall Hopcraft

I just love clay!
I like the clay to be the star with natural colours and textures predominating.

My work is very varied, from quite delicate torn porcelain earrings to stonking great pots.
I make ceramic animals and birds, from fragile young deers to lifesize wall-mounted donkey heads.
Recently I have been exploring ancient pots and figures and I’m aiming for an aged, just dug-up appearance with a nod to many different civilizations.

I work from a studio, made of mostly recycled materials, built by my husband during lockdown. It nestles at the bottom of our beautiful garden where you will be able to see many of my pieces among the plants and on the walls of the house and studio. My husband, who paints and also experiments with pewter will also be showing his work in the garden. We will be joined by two other potters, Les and Gabrielle Rucinski.
