Sally White

My work is at the moment large pots, usually made in white Stoneware, or porcelain, both starting with clean white base. The reason for this is that I am loving making bright, strong colours, using stains in white slip for painting land and seascapes on large pots, and also porcelain slab built with the surfaces impressed with floral plant material, then enhancing the image with underglazes, and also decorating with modelled flowers at the corners. I like adding details on the tops edges with rope effect, bringing the whole pot together. I intend to do more of these types of decorative wares. Finally firing in the gas kiln to encourage the coppers to turn red.
