Sam Fenner

“Animal paintings that make you smile”

I became a professional artist over 12 years ago (following Art College, a French Business degree, 10 years at the Morgan Motor Company in Marketing & Events, getting married and having 2 children) and am very lucky to be able to work from my garden studio in Worcester. Fortuitously, a commission for a friend turned in to a busy and fulfilling career as a full-time artist, seeing the creation of Sam Fenner Art in 2010 and developing a reputation for painting … believe it or not … quirky animal portraits. Hard work and commitment has fuelled my journey through art markets (often freezing), hosting open studios (much warmer) to exhibiting successfully at several UK galleries (wine).

I paint all animals but I am probably best known for my characterful highland cows, and am fortunate to sell my work to collectors all over the world and to have secured gallery representation throughout the UK.

My motivation is kept alive by people’s happy responses to the paintings. Ironically, there is no bigger compliment than hearing someone chuckle when looking at my work, and if I hear a guffaw … job done!

To quote a lovely exhibition curator “Sam Fenner’s work is full of colour, character and good humour, with a painterly quality which is an absolute joy. Not only that, the titles she gives her paintings may have you in stitches …”

Rest assured visitors will receive a safe and warm welcome to my little studio and we will have transformed the garden in to a covered outdoor gallery for visitors to peruse at leisure. There will be lots of discounted prints, cards, cushions and original paintings on sale, with contactless payment available … but all smiles and chuckles are free.
