Michelle loves to experiment using unconventional 3D techniques - striving to create highly textured, colourful and vibrant impasto pieces. She is a self-taught artist who has been actively practising her art for over 30 years- working mainly in oils and pastels as well as metallic acrylics. As well as smaller and more intimate work, Michelle also creates larger, bolder statement pieces on large canvases.
Art plays a big part in Michelle’s life and she is constantly inspired by the natural world. She is fortunate to be surrounded by the ancient countryside of north Worcestershire and her landscapes often features the dramatic skies and magical sunsets she experiences here and on her travels. Michelle also loves to paint the wild and energising seascapes of her favourite coastal destinations too.
She also strives to achieve a 3D sculpted effect in her artwork – even incorporating Polyfilla to attain such heavy impasto in her art. She is always looking to push the boundaries to show life in depth in her scenes, so that the viewer can get a sense of what she sees and conveys in her work.
Michelle looks forward to welcoming visitors into her studio and showcasing her preferred painting technique of incorporating dramatic colours and texture.
