With glass art there are so many techniques that can be incorporated into achieving your picture, cutting into coloured glass sheets, layering it, screen printing, powder printing, colouring with frit (small chunks of glass) to name a few. Then there’s casting and embossing which uses clay modelling techniques, the possibilities are endless. As are the items that you can make, wall art, garden art, functional pieces, jewellery as well as windows. All can be seen during my open days this year.
I mainly concentrate on fused glass but copper foiling and leadwork is starting to make an appearance in a lot of my pieces, most noticeably in hanging panels and some outdoor pieces using old window frames.
There will be demonstrations going on throughout the days, there won't be set times, just let me know and we can disappear into the workshop!
I'll also have a table set up so you can have a go at making a small piece yourself. These will £5 - £10 depending on shape chosen plus the cost of postage and packing - unless you come and collect them a week later.
