Cyanotypes
Bring me Sunshine
Mixed media, Printmaking

My unique and original art is inspired by the beauty, fragility and vulnerabilty of the natural world. I am interested in the loss of natural habitats in the UK which is one of the most nature depleted countries in the world. My art is sometimes serious, sometimes quirky but always curious.

I currently use the cyanotype process for most of my work. I really enjoy the serendipity and versatility of this process. I work with a combination of natural materials as well as collage to make my images and the monochrome colour gives the work a cohesiveness which I like. Using sunlight to create the artworks link them closely to nature.

I sometimes add details using gold leaf, copper metal leaf, ink or paint. I also tone some images which changes the characteristic blue colour to a sepia brown colour.

You will be able to see a selection of both finished artworks and artworks in progress and I am happy to share information about any of my processes with you.

I have an MA in Fine Art. Solo exhibitions include Fulham Palace in London, Winterbourne gardens in Birmingham and Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery. I have been shortlisted for several prize exhibitions including the Jerwood Drawing Prize and the Ruskin Drawing Prize. My work is held in both private and public collections.

If you would like to find out more about my work please visit my website where you can see more of my art. I also write a blog which will give you an insight into my working practices and inspirations. You can also sign up to my newsletter which gives you advance notice of exhibitions I am involved with as well as new work.
