I'm based in Kidderminster and have been creating with colour all my life.
My first love is watercolour and although I've been painting in this particular medium for many years now, I still consider it a dark art, mainly due to it's tricksy and unforgiving nature, still fascinating and fun to work with though. I love the way it allows the painter to conjure ethereal visions with translucent washes, or on the other end of the scale, explosions of vibrant colour... the latter is where I'm happiest.

For me, colour is a form of therapy, not only does it have the power to change my mood whilst in the flow of painting, but it also has the ability to influence the viewer's emotions... you could call it Black Magic! This is the power I strive to harness in my work, if I can evoke an emotional response, be it a smile, laughter or even a tear, then mission accomplished!

Recently my work has taken a more abstract direction, with the experimentation of a wider variety of mediums such acrylics and inks... sometimes the space I create in feels more like a laboratory than an art studio.
