I love the process of Batik as it’s always a surprise how it will turn out when the wax is removed at the end. No other technique can produce the results of Batik. Using dyes has led me to other techniques of dyeing cloth and fleece, the unpredictability of how it all turns out is exciting. I now dye and spin my own art wool, usually 100% Alpaca fleece as it’s so so soft and also hyper allergenic, and some of it I knit into soft fluffy colourful scarves and wraps. My painting is done in oils or acrylic and is often moody trees and colourful skies as the beautiful sunsets here give me inspiration, as does the plants and wildflowers in my garden.
