Expressive mark making is signature to my style. My techniques are underpinned with a long standing knowledge of screen printing; both paint and print are a strong influence in the current approach to my work. I use a calm but immediate approach; there is a strong emphasis on combining balanced abstract shapes, energetic brush marks and layered textures to create a piece of work that can be placed in any environment. With a limited, sophisticated colour palette and a combination of marks, I aim to create balance, good composition, contrast and texture in my work.
