Original Linocut Print

Linocut Print

by Layla Khani

This is an original linocut print in limited edition, inspired by the breathtaking landscape of Yorkshire.
I create all my prints, on one lino block, using oil-based ink on Arches 88, 300-gsm papers. I use ‘Reduction Method’ for all my lino printing. In this method, I use gouges and lino cutting tools, to make marks on lino block. In order to complete my image, I work in layers. For each colour I carve the block, and then ink and print on paper using an etching press for every single print. I repeat this process on the same block for every colour until the image is complete. By the end, there is very little left from the lino block, which makes it impossible to print any more.

Please note this print is sold unmounted/ unframed.

The image size is 30 x 30 cm
Paper size is approx 38 x 38 cm
Prints are numbered, titled and signed on front
