Laura Nicholson — Illustrator

I graduated in 2005 after studying Fine Art and then Art History at the University of Manchester. I then qualified as an Art teacher and have been painting and teaching ever since. More recently I have moved to become a full time artist, working from my studio at the end of my garden in Herefordshire/ Worcestershire border. My recent practice has seen a move towards Botanical Illustration using mainly Acrylic Inks, Indian Inks, Gouache, Watercolour and etching. I am inspired by the diversity of the natural world, particularly botanics, currently my cottage garden provides an array of inspiration. We have been living in the UK for 2 years after spending almost a decade living in Australia. My obsession with plants was firmly captured there, although the plants and wildlife are a lot less formidible here in the UK! I am hoping that both of my children follow in my creative footsteps as they already show a keen interest in the creative arts. I look forward to sharing my studio this summer.
