Watercolour and ink Cornish Seascape And there was light

Artform: Drawing, Illustration, Painting, Printmaking

Working with watercolours and inks is my preferred choice of mediums. They are fluid and immediate and have an honest integrity, with nowhere to hide – you see it all on the page.

My obsession with the landscape of West Penwith in Cornwall comes from a connection and sense of place – the Cornish call it Hireth. I try to capture the unique colour palette, the timeless beauty and sheer power of nature, not forgetting its forthright personality including the resident cheeky seagulls.

A lot of my paintings have an illustrative style. I’ll be sharing some of my recent work combining watercolour with blotted line ink printing and giving informal demos through the day.

I’ll have original paintings, prints and cards on display for you to view or purchase and look forward to chatting and hearing your thoughts. I enjoy teaching workshops and giving demos to local art groups, please ask if that would be of interest.

I’m excited to be joining up with members of WAC in Edgar Street, Worcester for the first time for Open Studios this year. I’ve previously taken part from my home studio in Bromsgrove.
