Artist information
I make contemporary sterling silver jewellery that is inspired by the beauty that remains in the things that are weathered, worn, decaying, overlooked or rejected. Each piece is individual and unique, made from up-cycled, recycled and repurposed silver, (often old cutlery) and semi-precious gemstones, and sometimes with a smidgen of gold. It is forged and sculpted using traditional techniques such as hammering, reticulating and melting, with a focus on developing organic textures and forms, and on finding beauty in unexpected places.
My jewellery was born from a desire to create responsibly, using metals already in circulation, without adding to the destruction caused by mining, both environmentally and in human terms. This methodology aims to prove that you can make beautiful things without it costing the earth.
