Artist information
British artist painter Sara Hayward (b.1963) studied at the Ruskin School of Drawing & Fine Art, Oxford University, and printmaking at the Royal College of Art, London. Her vibrant, colour filled paintings include still life landscape & figurative subject matter. Categorised by lively mark making and a unique way with colour, Sara’s work has been published as open and limited edition prints. John Lewis are publishing Sara’s still life paintings in Autumn Winter 2025. Further examples of her work can be seen on the Bridgeman Art Library website. Sara currently shows her work with the Greenstage Gallery (who have shown her Affordable Art Fair, London), Cotswold Contemporary (in Cirencester & Burford) and the Artifex Gallery (Sutton Coldfield). Sara has held artist residencies at the Museum of Royal Worcester (and painted the portrait of Henry Sandon MBE for the museum) and Winterbourne House & Garden, Birmingham University which were both funded by the Leverhulme Trust. Sara enjoys tai chi and tennis and is married to landscape painter Paul Powis, with whom she enjoys travelling. They live in Worcester where they each have studios.
