Hello,
Here you’ll be able to discover a little of what I make and how I make it.
I enjoy painting, drawing and working in mixed media. However, the term ‘mixed media’ doesn’t tell you much, does it? So sometimes I’ll work in charcoal with chalk, or watercolours with fine liners to finish, for example. If put to my election, I’d say I love soft pastels and acrylics best, but am getting to know more about working with gouache now, a natural paint rather like watercolour. But the good thing is you can paint over it, like acrylics, so it’s more forgiving than watercolours which I find tricky.
I’ve been training with several tutors (all helpful) in a ColourWheel class since May 2019. So, now in my 8th year at the art class (and just into my 80th year) I suppose I’m the perpetual art student – always learning and experimenting.
My work covers an eclectic range of topics from farm and wild animals, fluffy chicks and feathery hens to green and pleasant landscapes, choppy seascapes and even icons in egg tempera on board.
