Artist information
I have been a commercial sculptor for nearly 20 years, beginning my journey as a modelmaker in a plaster workshop in Bath, England. I hold a BA (Hons) in Modelmaking for Design and Media, which has been instrumental in developing my natural ability to capture likenesses and master traditional mold making and casting techniques.
My sculptures have been featured by some of Britain’s most iconic brands, such as Burberry, English Heritage and The British Museum. Internationally, I have enjoyed working with clients across Europe, the UAE, and the USA. I exhibit my work several times a year, and have been part of exhibitions held in Malvern, Bath, Frome, London, and Broadway.
In my work, I continually explore the realms of figurative and portraiture art. A constant thread throughout my career has been my fascination with classical architecture and Greek mythology, themes that deeply influence my creations. I am deeply engaged in working with clays, and casting bronze, a medium that carries a rich history and offers an exciting path to explore colours and form.
When working on portrait commissions, I cherish the opportunity to connect with clients whilst exploring their aspirations. Grasping the vision and emotions that the client wishes to convey becomes an essential part of the creative process that enriches the final work. Ultimately, this collaboration shapes the piece into a meaningful and personal reflection of the subject.
I work from my home, nestled at the foot of the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. As an active participant in the local art community, I have attended courses run by the Society of Portrait Sculptors and have had the privilege of teaching at the Malvern School of Art.
In addition to creating art, I am passionate about teaching aspiring artists and offering one-to-one lessons, sharing my knowledge and skills with others. I am committed to supporting fellow artists, providing friendship and encouragement as we navigate our artistic journeys.
