Artist information
I am a contemporary artist producing abstracted landscapes and more recently contemporary florals, working out of my studio based at Craycombe Farm Park, right next to Evesham Golf Club, on the main A44 Pershore to Evesham Road in Worcestershire.
I am very fortunate to work in a lovely location surrounded by the beautiful Worcestershire countryside – a definite plus for an abstracted landscape artist! I love colour and texture and much of my work transcends the boundaries of traditional landscapes and have cultivated a distinctive style that highlights the serenity of landscapes with an explosion of colour and form, resulting in imaginative abstracted pieces of work. I love a bit of mixed media!! – from acrylics to oils, from textured pastes to inks and charcoal, I love to experiment with materials, pushing the boundaries of conventional artistic expression. Each piece is multi-layered, and strokes of paint blend together with unexpected elements. The unpredictability of these mediums and the luminosity of my finished pieces create an interesting dynamic, creating experimental and expressive pieces of work.
‘I don’t want to replicate the landscape like a photograph or paint the exact scene before me. I simply want to capture the essence of a place, a feeling, an emotion and create an energetic and expressive piece of art’.
With my new contemporary floral work I again don’t seek to replicate particular flowers but more to capture the vibrant colours resulting in bright and interesting artworks.
When I am working in my studio, it is open to the public where you can pop in for a chat and see me at work, however to guarantee I am at the studio for your visit and not out delivering a painting, please contact me for an appointment. Weekend viewings always available by prior arrangement. If you would prefer to have the studio/gallery area exclusively to yourself for private viewings, please do get in touch and I will get the coffee on!
