Artist information
I studied and trained in jewellery design in London and then took a long career diversion. I returned to designing and making when my children were young and currently work with silver, mixed metals and precious stones creating unique pieces. I am interested in the relationship between the organic and the architectural and my work explores the tension between the unyielding nature of metal and the natural form of stones. Recurring shapes and themes run through my work and although I start with a specific idea, the process of creating often throws up interesting accidents and diversions which are integrated into the final piece. I also use the Japanese wax casting process with is freer and more unpredicatable. My art work focuses on nature and abstracts.
