Artist information
I have a fascination with the combination of vibrant, harmonious colour, natural form, portraiture and realism. My work brings these elements together through oil painting, exploring the balance between observation and expression.
I am drawn to the beauty of shape, composition and the emotional presence of a subject, whether human or animal. Through layering colour, pattern and texture, I aim to create paintings that feel both considered and intuitive, often sitting between realism and something more expressive.
Alongside my personal work, I enjoy taking on a range of commissions, which allows me to work across different subjects and occasionally explore new materials and approaches. This keeps my practice evolving and responsive.
I am inspired by artists such as Sergio Fiorentino and Kris Knight, particularly in their use of colour, atmosphere and composition. I love their use of subtle story telling within their portraits, something I utilise in my portraits through colour, expression and subject.
