Without any idea, expectation or preconception, Nige builds up multiple layers of acrylic paint over gesso or structure gel, using palette knives and a plasterer’s trowel. The uneven surfaces allow patches of colour to emerge, sometimes drying between layers, other times wet into wet, creating unpredictable vibrant energy and depth.
