I am a self taught oil painter based in Malvern. Originating from Margate, where JMW Turner would frequently visit and for a short while lived, and once remarked to John Ruskin “The skies over Thanet are the loveliest in all Europe”
I have an instinctive gestural approach to painting, using texture as a base to create living, breathing land/sea/skyscapes.
My inspiration comes from nature and the elements, blending these elements to produce an emotional synergy, evoking a sense of contemplation, discovery and ultimately hope.
Above all, light is the key to all my paintings.
