Artist information
Hailing from Wales and now based in Worcestershire, I draw deep inspiration from spirited landscapes, tangled hedgerows, rolling hills and turbulent coastlines. My work captures a personal, immersive experience of place: its wildness and organic beauty, interwoven with industrial traces and layers of history. Rather than observing from a distance, I paint with the intention of conveying what it feels like to be within the landscape itself.
My practice has grown from a love of plein air mark making into an exploratory studio process. Working across mixed media, I build rich, expressive surfaces through layering, each piece holding both an emotional response and a sense of time embedded within it.
This year marks an exciting shift in my work. I’ve been pushing boundaries, experimenting with new materials, techniques and sources of inspiration. The studio is alive with energy and change as my work reflects this evolving, more adventurous direction.
Since completing the Art and Design programme at Malvern Hills College in 2020, I have exhibited throughout Wales and England, including the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, Cornwall and solo exhibitions at Spring Gallery, Cheltenham. My work is also held by several galleries in Wales, including the Waterfront Gallery, the home of the Wales Contemporary, and Bluestone in Hay-on-Wye
Once again this year I will be taking part in the Worcestershire Open Studios Art Week which is a wonderful opportunity to step inside my process and see how my work emerges. I’d love to welcome you to experience the studio in full swing.
