Artform: Illustration, Painting, Printmaking

I am a West Midlands based printmaker, painter and illustrator. My work is inspired by the English landscape, rolling hills, fields and nature we surround ourselves with, and the symbolism we are drawn to. I graduated from Falmouth University College with a first class degree in Illustration, and have been practising art for 20 years. I am inspired by folk and narrative art, and mid-century illustrators such as SR Badmin and painter Eric Ravilious. My work has a narrative atmosphere, influenced by my background as a children’s book author and illustrator, and my affinity with storytelling. I’m drawn to exploring the idea of home, hope, and belonging, through etched line, paint or meandering dip pen ink. My work is intentionally small, as I’m drawn to the idea of a tiny window into another place, or a little talisman, to glance at as you leave the house. As well as originals, my work is available in giclee prints, gift cards and I regularly take private commissions.
