ART COMES ALIVE IN HISTORIC FAMILY CHURCH
20 local artists. One stunning setting. A new, must-see Warwickshire Open Studios Venue.
The Throckmorton family church at Coughton Court, Alcester, will come alive with art this summer as a group of 20 local artists, exhibit their work together.
Launching as part of Warwickshire Open Studios, between 20th June to 5th July, the historic Church of St Peter, St Paul and St Elizabeth at Coughton Court, Alcester, will be transformed into a vibrant exhibition space showcasing a wide range of work by the Coughton Collective.
Set within the beautiful grounds of Coughton Court and against the dramatic backdrop of the family church, the exhibition offers a unique blend of art, heritage and atmosphere. Expect a bold and varied showcase: from paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolour to ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, willow art and silver jewellery. There will be the chance to meet the artists and to see live demonstrations throughout each day. It’s about conversation, connection and giving people a glimpse into the creative journey.
Lead artist Donna Trim said: “It’s incredibly exciting to bring together such a talented group of local artists in one place for the first time. There’s a real breadth of work on show and the setting makes it even more special. It’s a truly unique experience with something for everyone.”
Double firsts! This is the first time the Coughton Collective has exhibited together as a group and the first time that Cougton Court has been a venue for Warwickshire Open Studios, making this one of the standout venues to visit during this year’s Warwickshire Open Studios programme.
