I paint in oils from my studio in an old farmhouse that looks out on the Malvern Hills where I have lived since 2020 with my husband. I set up my easel while Jerry planted an acre of Pinot Noir grapes.
Although I never went to art school, I have loved drawing and painting since I was young, taking sketchbooks and watercolours on holidays, following life classes, and joining groups of creative spirits.
I started to get interested in oils several years ago, and then discovered the inspirational teaching of British contemporary artist and founder of the Norfolk Painting School, Martin Kinnear. I completed his Diploma Course in oil painting in 2019, and that felt like a turning point.
I mostly paint landscapes, but not exclusively. Nature effortlessly offers up ever-changing beauty in light, colour and shape. That is the inspiration for my work.
