Kate Gallimore – The Art of Drawing Horses

Venue: Vine Cottage Studio and Gallery
Cost: £55
Timing: 10.30 am – 4 pm
Date: 13 June to 13 June 2026

The Art of Drawing Horses

Join Kate in a wonderful, full day workshop learning ways to draw horses expressively, to show their character and nature. You can begin the day with a visit to Kates own horses to take photographs and make quick observational sketches. Kate will explain some key anatomical points which are useful to know when drawing horses.

On returning to the studio Kate will demonstrate techniques using charcoal such as contour and subtractive drawing and using smudging to create tones. You will be able to practice these techniques and all materials needed for the day are supplied by Kate.

You can then begin making your own expressive horse drawings and Kate will give you individual guidance on how to develop your own drawing style and work.

Tea, coffee and homemade cake is available all day, you are invited to bring along your own lunch and if the weather is with us we can sit in the lovely garden of Vine Cottage to enjoy it.

This is a really special workshop and places will be limited to ensure you can make the most of your time with us.

Vine Cottage Studio and Gallery is artist Kate Gallimores new creative space nestled at the foot of the Clent Hills in Worcestershire.
