I am a sculptor drawn to the human figure and architecture. Much of my figurative work is influenced by themes from Greek mythology, drawing on a long-held fascination to explore creation, longing, and consequence.
At my Open Studio set up with Elmslie House, visitors will encounter work in traditional materials including bronze, copper and plaster. Alongside cast pieces and figurative studies, I will be showing a new collection of highly intricate architectural sculptures in plaster, a strand of my practice that I have recently returned to with renewed energy.
Throughout the week I will also be working live on clay figurative pieces, offering visitors the chance to see how ideas develop through making. This space you can experience both finished works and work in progress, and to see how material, form and story come together in the sculptural process.
