Artist information

I am based at my home studio in the pretty Worcestershire village of Charlton. My work is an ever-evolving exploration of expressive colour, dynamic textures, and emotional depth. I am passionate about crafting contemporary landscapes and seascapes that go beyond simply depicting a scene.

Drawn to the mystery and beauty of nature, I often paint intuitively, aiming to convey atmosphere, movement, memories, and emotions. I love the versatility of oils with cold-wax medium as well as acrylics with textured pastes. Through experimentation with different mark-making tools and colour combinations, I build layers that reveal unexpected surprises, ensuring each piece has its own distinct depth and vibrancy. At the same time, I’m thinking about composition, harmony, tones, and textures, ensuring all elements come together to create a cohesive and compelling piece.

When you visit my studio, you’ll find finished paintings, works-in-progress, and many of my sketchbooks, which I use on location and as a springboard for new ideas. I will be doing demos every day, so I’d love for you to stop by and watch the process unfold!
