Artist information

Hi, I am Gabe, known by the moniker ‘Outside The Mass’ for my strange work that pushes the boundaries set by the art world.

I am a queer emerging artist based at Worcester Arts Collective. My art practice is a hybrid one, combining my background in illustration with Fine Art, blurring the boundaries between the two disciplines. I work solely in traditional mediums, building a visual language that champions tangibility and unpredictability in order to draw people into my unique visions for what art can be in a digital centric age.

My art explores consumerism, alienation, gender, politics, and recently, hidden queer issues. Contextualising my work in issues that are prevalent in a modern world is vital within my practice, I do this by working from life, depicting real humans within their natural routines; visually clashing these scenes of reality with surrealist imagery to weave engaging narratives.
