Artist information
I have been creating lampshades from plant-fibre papers for over 25 years, ever since I moved to Malvern. My latest designs are handprinted linocuts and include Malvern houses, Cornish cottages, beach huts, pebbles, leaves, jugs and bottles. I am an avid collector and my inspiration for my designs comes from my surroundings and my collections.
I specialise in half shades which are perfect for wall lights, bedside tables and hall consoles where space is limited. However, drum shades for floor lamps, table lamps and ceiling pendants can be made to order. I also create lampshades from vintage OS maps which I make to order as personalised gifts.
I’m a member of Worcestershire Guild Contemporary Craft and exhibit with them regularly. I also have a shop on my website. www.artshades.co.uk/shop
In addition I create surface pattern designs for licensing and many of my vectorised designs are taken from my linocuts. I’ve produced fabric and notebooks and have licensed wallpaper designs.
