‘A storm ‘approaches the Malvern Hills .Your walk is cut short but the view is spectacular ! Acrylics on a deep edge canvas.I like to capture the moods of the landscape , the unexpected moments and our connection to nature.

Artform: Ceramics & Pottery, Painting

I am a trained painter , printmaker and potter.
I have been painting since my childhood and have sold work through galleries and events for many years.Making pots and sculptures has also featured in my early childhood and after working in a pottery for a number of years , I decided to study Fine Art painting and printmaking in Cheltenham.Leaving pottery behind. The last three years I have started to return to clay!

This year I have decided to create art which links wildlife and landscape through ceramics and paintings. My Malvern landscapes will be available and other locations too .All will be moody, dramatic and holding moments of Abstraction.I am focusing on the journey of walking, capturing different weather and times of day.

I tend to work in acrylics as I like the way it allows you to work quickly and keep colours fresh.I tend to work in two hour blocks , using photos and colour charts to build up the painting.Working in short bursts allows me time to reflect and hopefully not overwork a piece.

Nature is the main theme this year, I am drawn to our need to connect with it, to refresh and share these moments with others. Getting the balance in our lives can be tricky and one which I find difficult sometimes. But when I put on my muddy boots and get out there I always feel much happier.

Animals, flowers and hills are all included in this summer’s event.
My animals are painted in acrylics against rolling hills and fields , ceramic hares and foxes litter my studio shelves. A collection of bright, tactile floral paintings hang here and there.

My studio is in Worcester, bottom of the garden , reached by the side gate .I will have a gazebo showing smaller items and a few steps lead to the art studio.
I welcome visitors to drop by , chat about walking , fishing, animals and art…a seat and a drink is available.
