Artform: Painting
I would like to welcome you to a lovely gallery space at Holly House in Barbourne, where I will exhibit my quirky, colourful and fun portraits and still lifes. Using graphic outlines, flat planes of colour and patterns in a naive style. I very much enjoy the effect colour combinations have, I like patterns but equally enjoy empty spaces within a painting and the calm it can create. I am a self taught artist and heavily influenced by naive and folk art. I work in acrylic on board or canvas and although my work tends to be medium size, I do have an ambition to paint on a larger scale too. I like to use pre-loved quality frames to upcycle in beautiful chalk colours, to make the art work pop. Sometimes I use antique frames with warm tones of oak for example and I also paint patterns on frames. I very much enjoy the process of upcycling and to see the transformations of the frames. Reducing waste to landfill in the process of creating new art is important to me.
On the days I am exhibiting, I will be painting on site.
I will be selling mainly my original artwork, which will be framed. I will also be selling a few originals in mounts only, some limited edition gicleè prints and greeting cards.
I will be happy to discuss any commissions for anyone who is interested. Access into the property is all ground level, so it is easy to enter for people with some mobility restrictions.
Amenities are close by and so are some toilets by the park.
