For Open Studios 2026 I am delighted to have been invited to showcase my work alongside textile artist Mary Clayburn and ceramicist Gabrielle Rucinski, in the lovely setting of Mary’s home.
Drawn to mark-making and the subtle language of materials, I work primarily in ink and acrylic, occasionally incorporating collage, print, or stitch. My intuitive process lets the materials guide the outcome, producing work that ranges from realistic to abstract and semi-abstract. Much of my practice is inspired by observing nature and landscape while out walking. I strive to capture not only what is seen, but also what is felt – the atmosphere, rhythm, and quiet details of a place.
For this year’s event, I will be showing a variety of paintings and mixed media pieces, including a new series of works inspired by the seasons. I will also be demonstrating my mark-making techniques – it’s amazing what you can create with just a chopped-up credit card and a bit of paint or ink!
Together, Mary, Gabi and I look forward to welcoming you to share our work, our processes and conversation in a relaxed and intimate setting.
