I am a Mixed Media artist who uses a wide variety of techniques and materials to create 2D and 3D work. Much of my work is inspired by the natural world and by our travels around the world by motorbike. Among other things, I create what are known as Shrines; small works that offer a moment of contemplation and escape from our busy world.
Some of my work is also concerned with what it is to be human and has an emotional element to it.
All my work will be displayed in my friendly home studio where you will be able to see work in progress and for sale. There will be sketchbooks to see and a comfy sofa to chat away on. I am keen to encourage others to do something creative so there will be things to have a go at too if you wish. The Midnight Studio is set in a lovely walled garden and I will be providing refreshments and home made cakes for charity (Animals Asia).
I will also be running 2hr workshops:
Tues 2-4pm you can come and make your own animal ‘Shrine’.
Thurs 2-4pm you can create a small ‘Shrine’ to a person or pet. For this workshop you will need to bring a B&W image of them approx. 6cms tall printed on ordinary computer paper.
Workshops need to be booked in advance by emailing me. There are only 4 places for each workshop and a cost of £20 to cover materials. No artistic abilities are necessary as I will help you step by step to create a small personal work to take home.
