I'm looking forward to welcoming you to my studio and garden. Over the last two years my garden has been an inspiration - flowers, paths, edges and borders - all have appeared in my work.
I'm a mixed media and textile artist with a love of hand stitch. I am drawn to landscape, using pattern and texture to explore a particular time and place. I’m fascinated by how a simple line of stitches catches the eye and creates meaning. I recycle and reuse as much as I can from bed linens, old clothes to the scraps and threads resulting from making. I like to cut and reassemble work using the process to find new ways of interpreting my subject. Response to nature and human impact on the landscape are ongoing concerns, while trips to Antarctica in 2002 and 2020 are a major creative influence in my work.
On a visit you'll be able to see work in progress and design ideas as well as finished pieces. I'll be delighted to show you how I develop my work, from initial idea to finished item.
