I collect litter from the natural environment and make collagraph prints using found items. This process offers unusual shapes and textures which I then develop using add hand drawn and painted detail. I also use collage to add depth and layers, and to utilise 'cast off' prints and sketches, further reducing studio waste. I started my creative litter journey in 2009 whilst studying at Swansea Metropolitan University, sourcing my materials from the Gower coastline. I now work predominantly in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire, collecting most of my litter from roadsides, thrown by the passengers of passing cars. My finished pieces are accompanied by an ‘ingredients’ list, revealing where and when the litter was found. I am part of 'The Artists' Gallery' near Ludlow, situated on the A49 next door to Ludlow Farmshop. We are a small cooperative of local artists who exhibit together and take it in turns to be on duty. Our visitors enjoy a 'meet the maker' shopping experience, enabling them to talk to us about our creative processes and discuss artworks with us directly. I also run inclusive workshops for all ages and abilities, connecting people with plastic pollution in the natural environment.
