Susan Coggon — Painter
From an early age I loved drawing wildlife, I have been inspired by the natural beauty of the Wyre Forest and its surrounding area where I was brought up. I have since experimented with various mediums including oils, scraper board and acrylics however, watercolours are my favourite as they can be delicate which is perfect for detailed paintings that can be created when brushed on dry paper whereas, washes of colour can be used to create unexpected and interesting patterns, especially for backgrounds. Before starting a piece of work, I like to find out about an animals natural environment and behaviour to give me more confidence to paint it.
Initially I prepare my workspace, laying brushes pencils and paint out neatly. I find painting in water colours very therapeutic especially when listening to some soothing music, my cats also love the calm atmosphere and keep me company.www.relaxatdaisy.co.uk/artwork
