Julie Lloyd Owen – Stitched Portraiture

This workshop will encourage you to produce a hand embroidered portrait from a photo. We will trace the image onto the fabric using a light box and guide stitch lines. Some basic knowledge of a few hand embroidery stitches will be necessary e.g. back stitch and running stitches as these will enable you to “draw” with the stitch. For the more advanced stitcher, guidance can be given on options such as using some Blackwork stitches. Not everyone is able to finish the portrait in the one day so guidance and help is available on the day only, to encourage you to complete it afterwards.
The workshop is one full day. 11.00am to 17.00 hrs with a break for lunch. Please make your own lunch arrangements but tea, coffee and cake will be available for free!
