Batik Artist & Printmaker

Artform: Batik, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking

I am passionate about mark making, colour and creating the feeling of energy in my artworks. I have spent may years creating batiks and am now exploring other mediums, paint, line and printmaking. I love teaching experimental drawing and mark making, along with batik and printmaking. This is my year for developing my new practice.
My first passion is nature – being outdoors, absorbing the landscape and the light. My second is turning these experiences into art, I observe, deconstruct and abstract. I produce detailed and abstracted batik works, full of energy, and expression.
I share Engine Room Studio with painter Wayne Janisch, located behind the Hop Pocket shopping village at Fromes Hill. I run regular batik, exploring drawing and printmaking workshops www.engineroomstudio.co.uk. I also run a twice yearly art week in Portugal. I am excited to be at this Beautiful Theatre of small convenience for WOS this year.
