Glasswork Artist

Artform: Glasswork
In my art background I’m relatively new to glass fusion. So, it’s an exciting prospect for me to explore its unpredictability of form and resultant transformations during its molten state in the kiln.
I have a degree in Interdisciplinary Art and Design and previously enjoyed focussing on fabric manipulation and experimentation to create mainly wall tapestries along with mixed media processes to create 3D sculptural items.
I have been successful in exhibiting and promoting my work locally in West Yorkshire before moving to Worcestershire. I lived close to Holmfirth (‘Last of The Summer Wine’ country) for over 20 years and took night classes in stained glass making and enjoyed employing the creative exercise to experiment for my own personal family usage and then, following exhibitions, commissions were requested.
The idea of fused glass came from a workshop just before the pandemic and ignited a new avenue to explore and pursue. It seemed a natural transition. I currently get my inspiration from nature and the lovely surrounding countryside. My current experimentations take on a quirky playful characteristic.
I am open to commissions; wedding favours; special occasion/ celebration requests. My glasswork can be personalised for such events. I’m available to run workshops and have glass art boxes on sale for you to experiment with at home before returning to me for fusing in the kiln.
