Contemporary artist Joe Eccles (b.1987) has been practicing abstract art for over two decades. Working primarily with mixed media (including Acrylic, Oil Stick, Spray Paint, Pen and Acrylic Ink); Eccles is best known for his large format, bold abstract statements. He uses vivid colours and unconventional imagery to explore free-form expressionism. His practice revolves around the idea of creating art as an end in itself, however, his work often embodies a profound exploration of the human condition through indirect metaphors, serving as a medium for introspection and a reflection of personal experiences.

With a portfolio that resounds internationally, Joe has become a symbol of creativity, drawing inspiration from the eclectic tapestry of life and his subconscious, delving into the depths of individual perception.

Eccles exhibited in prestigious platforms such as the RBSA Gallery in Birmingham, the Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery, and the Herbert in Coventry. His canvases tell stories that transcend language, beckoning viewers to immerse themselves in the depths of emotion and imagination. Recent notable projects include completing a 3m high mural for Birmingham Selfridges. His work serves as a testament to the universal language of art and its ever expanding boundaries.
