Artform: Collage, Drawing, Mixed media, Textiles & Needlework

Places that capture my emotions inspire me. I work with collage and stitch, dyeing and printing my own recycled fabrics to create work that brings back memories or responds to the age, passage of time or use of a landscape. I love the rhythm of hand sewing and the feel of cloth in my hands. I am fascinated and inspired by Antarctica, the rolling landscape of Worcestershire, the deep time of Avebury and its Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments. My first visit to India in 2025 has given me a creative jolt, changing my colour palette and inspiring stitches. In my studio I’ll demonstrate how I put my work together, the process involved in preparing fabric and the way I use stitch to create a sense of place.
